Remembering a star from the hit FOX show "Glee"

CALIFORNIA ---- After a five-day search in Lake Piru, Naya Rivera, age 33, was sadly recovered and confirmed dead. This sadly comes on the day the show lost another star, Cory Monteith in 2013. The well-known actor went missing about a week ago, on July 8, after going on a boat ride and a swim with her four-year-old son at the lake. After the time that her boat was slated for return went by, someone found Rivera's son asleep on the boat but with no sign of his mother. When the son was found, he had a life jacket on but also had an adult-sized life-jacket on the boat. When authorities asked what had happened, according to the Sheriff's office statement, the son told investigators that he and Rivera were swimming, and he got back onto the boat, but his mother did not. The Ventura County Sheriff's office along with other law enforcement agencies spent a total of five days searching, along with her family and co-stars from "Glee". On the 7th anniversary of Cory's death, who overdosed in Canada, they found a body floating near the surface and tweeted about it, as of 12:38 P.M. PST. At the 2:00 P.M. PST press conference, authorities announced that they are confident that the body, which was found at 9:10 A.M. PST, is definitely Rivera. This was based on the body's location and physical characteristics. According to ET, the area in which the body was found had heavy brush and trees that are 15 to 20 feet in height, making it difficult for authorities to find Rivera's body. The last tweet Rivera shared on social media was a picture of her and his son with the caption, "Just the two of us". Another tweet was published days prior that said "no matter the year, circumstance, or strifes everyday you're alive is a blessing make the most of today and every day you are given. tomorrow is not promised". Rivera's co-stars Kevin, Heather, Amber, Jenna & Chris along with family were seen holding hands still holding hope that Rivera would be found. This powerful moment was just a little over thirty minutes before the Sheriff's department told the news media about the press conference. 

Naya Rivera is known for her role as Santana Lopez on the FOX show "Glee", which she appeared throughout the entire six seasons. Rivera was the third star from the show to die in their 30s which also include Cory, and Mark Salling, who died by suicide after pleading guilty to child pornography charges in 2018, according to WRAL. Some of Rivera's co-stars, friends and those that knew of her tweeted shortly after her death was confirmed. Jane Lynch, who played Sue Sylvester wrote "Rest sweet Naya. What a force you were. Love and peace to your family." Another star, Chris Colfer, who played Kurt, wrote "Being close to her was both a badge of honor and a suit of armor. Naya was truly one of a kind, and she always will be." This was followed by a broken heart image. 

Other roles Rivera was known for include staring in the CBS sitcom The Royal Family as a four-year-old along with a bunch of other television shows, music videos, films, and an album. Rivera also received a bunch of nominations and awards throughout her career. She leaves behind her divorced husband Ryan Dorsey, her son, her brother Mychal, her other family members, her co-stars, and a bunch of her fans. Naya Rivera of Santa Clarita California was born on January 12, 1987. Today we remember Naya Rivera, a beloved actor, whose body was found after being missing for five days.
